Terms Of Business
Tuition fees are agreed between you and Speaklanguages before the tuition commences. Any matters concerning fees should be discussed directly with Speaklanguages, and not with your teacher.
The first lesson
The first lesson is arranged by Speaklanguages, in liaison with you and your teacher. Thereafter you should liaise with your teacher for further lessons. You are also welcome to call us during office hours (9.00am - 5.00pm) on 1300 906 233 should you need any assistance.
Before you start
Your new teacher will telephone you at least two days in advance of the date set for tuition once the first lesson has been arranged. The purpose of this is i) for your teacher to introduce him/herself and discuss the tuition; ii) to ensure you and your teacher are clear about where and when the tuition will take place.
If you fail to cancel a lesson and your teacher arrives to provide a pre-arranged tuition to find the student is not available, the full lesson fee is due. Your teacher will wait 20 minutes for the student's arrival, but is not obliged to wait any longer. If your teacher needs to cancel a lesson, you will be contacted immediately and the lesson rearranged, ideally for that week. If you are unable to give 24 hours' notice before cancelling a lesson, then 50% (only) of the lesson fee is due. If you want to postpone a lesson, you may rearrange it for a more suitable time at no charge- provided that you give 24 hours' notice, weekend days excluded.
A professional image
Speaklanguages teachers should project a smart, professional image, arriving and leaving punctually. If your teacher is likely to be late, you should be contacted and informed. If your teacher is unable to continue with the tuitions or will be absent for a sustained period, Speaklanguages will endeavour to find a replacement teacher for you.
Our clients' satisfaction is paramount
Although we are confident that through or thorough recruitment process we only employ qualified and experienced teachers, ultimately Speaklanguages clients' goals and our commitment to your satisfaction is paramount. Should you not be entirely satisfied with any aspect of our tutors’ conduct please contact us immediately and we will provide you with a replacement tutor.
i) Pay-as-you-go. You pay the teacher after each lesson. You are not obliged to arrange further lessons unless you wish to do so. This payment method is not available for Corporate Groups. When choosing the pay-as-you-go option please be mindful of the fact that our tutors might not carry change with them so please have the correct payment at the end of each lesson. In the unlikely case that the students don't have the payment in cash at the end of the lesson they will be required to submit an electronic payment in the presence of the tutor. ii) Bulk payments. This is the only available payment for Corporate Groups. Individuals or non-corporate groups that wish to purchase tuitions in bulk can do so. In this case payments will be made in full to Speaklanguages before commencing the lessons.
At the end of each lesson, your teacher will ask the student to sign a timesheet when a payment is made. For Corporate groups and lessons purchased in bulk there will be no signature required at the end of the classes.
We offer packages of 5 or 10 lessons to Corporate groups. Lessons will be payable to Speaklanguages in full before commencing your tutoring. The length of the lessons will be decided by your company and will not be less than 1 hour each. Frequency will be decided by your company prior commencing and dates and tutors will be allocated to your company. If all your staff cannot attend class on the day you have booked out tutor a 24 hours notice cancellation will be required to avoid late cancellation fees.
